Hi, I’m caleb knorr, ma, lpcc-s.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (E.2102126-SUPV) in Ohio with over nine years of experience supporting individuals through some of life’s most difficult moments. I specialize in the treatment of complex trauma, social anxiety, anger management, grief, and depression. I also have a particular passion for working with teenagers, supporting them as they navigate the unique challenges of growing up.
At the core of my work is a deep belief in the dignity and inherent worth of every person. I believe each individual is irreplaceable, that your story, your growth, and even your struggles matter in a profound way. I believe real growth comes not from battling difficult thoughts and emotions, but from self-compassion, connection to the present moment, and a defined commitment to enacting our values.
about ME:
I believe that we are, at our core, relational beings. I believe connection, community, and being truly known by another person are essential to our well-being. The therapeutic relationship itself is part of the healing. You won't be treated as a diagnosis or a problem to be solved, but as a whole person deserving of sincere care, respect, and accompaniment on your journey. The beginning of counseling will center on creating a safe, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationship, one where you feel free to explore your experiences without worry of judgment.
I work from a trauma-informed perspective, understanding that unresolved pain and past experiences frequently shape how we think, feel, and respond in the present. Whether you're struggling with the impacts of a painful past, feeling stuck in patterns of worry or sadness, or you're a young person trying to make sense of a complicated world, you don't have to walk this road alone. As your counselor, I would love to journey with you and help you discover and develop the tools needed for healing.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate. I draw from a range of evidence-based frameworks, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and client-centered principles. I also incorporate mindfulness, behavioral activation, and existential principles into my work. However, at heart, I am an eclectic and integrative therapist. Therapy works best when it's designed for you. I draw on a range of evidence-based theories and techniques, adapting them to your unique goals. I encourage collaboration in our sessions so that together we can discover what works best for you.
I'd love to talk and see if we're a good fit. Getting in touch is the first, and often hardest step, and I'm glad you're considering it! My hope is that you'll find our sessions a calm, judgment-free environment, a place where your story can come forth naturally whenever you're ready to share it. Whatever you're carrying deserves space to be heard without rush or judgment. If you're looking for a place to slow down, be heard, and work towards meaningful growth, I invite you to get in touch!
